Shawls

My plan is to make shawls as Christmas gifts for some or all of my girl list-dwellers. That's somewhere between one and fourteen shawls :) I had some custom yarn made for the first one, and have had a devil of a time finding a pattern that made sense for the colorway. Its cream, buttercream, charcoa...

Re: Pineapples

Less than a year. I just cut the top off, pulled off the bottom inch or so of leaves and put it in bromeliad potting soil. I kept it moist until I saw growth, then slacked off a bit  I really need to repot them. One pot has no drainage (which I discovered after putting them outside and after th...

Pineapples

Just for fun, I started a couple of pineapples from crowns last year. They are growing but I think they need more light than they get in my sunniest room. But it's still pretty cold out! How much Michigan weather can they take? Any tricks to get them to produce?

Re: What crafts does everyone do?

It's been a long time, so I'll update. I crochet pretty much every day now. It's my go to stress reliever. I just started playing with creating bird baths and garden art out of old dishes. I debarked and smoothed a stick the last time we went camping. I'm calling that whittling lol I've got as few c...

I've tried all the tricks I know, and come up with only that source in Hawaii, also. They are way awesome! If you do get them, be sure to show us the end product :D

OED! Well, that's just what I was thinking! And I have to admitt, I don't "get" how it knows the difference between grass and anything else, either, but I'm letting that go.... for now :o My Mom happened to come by yesterday, and I asked her (she has used this stuff before) but she wasn't too ...
