Re: Anybody familiar with this succulent?

Hmmmm...that blossom sure looks like it's in the Aeschynanthus family. (Lipstick plant) There are many varieties...all with similiar leaves and flowers as yours.

Re: Help with type of plant.

They sure look like a variety of jade plants to me also. We had this plant in the greenhouses at school (came from Hidden Lake Gardens cuttings)
Very easy to start new plants...either a single leaf, or stem tip cuttings. Your plants look healthy!!

Re: What kind of succulent is this?!

We always called this "Maternity Plant" or "Mother of Thousands"...because of those tiny little plantlets at the end of each leaf.
This has to be one of the easiest plants to propagate...just toss 'em on top of the soil!

Mmm...Sounds wonderful! Funny, I'm not a goat cheese lover either. We had goats when I was growing up...to me, the cheese tastes like they smell!

Anxious to try this recipe, thanks!

Re: Ducks

Looks like you've got your ducks in a row! Such cuties they are! My family had a few ducks when I was a youngin'...and I remember my Dad being VERY angry when we had to replant several rows of beans in our large organic garden after they toddled along munchin' on all the little seedlings! Seems like...

Re: vintage wool sweaters.....

Glad you like 'em!! Yes...I did make up my own patterns for all of them. That orange sweater had been planned for pumpkins in the fall...but somehow the carrots won over! They are all completely hand stitched, then turned inside-out, stuffed, then finished. The carrots and chicks faces have been nee...

vintage wool sweaters.....

I was home on the couch with back problems several days...had been wanting to try making some goodies with the old wool sweaters I'd purposely shrunk down in the washing machine a few months ago. Finally had some time to try some ideas! Everything's hand-stitched...had a great time seeing the little...

Re: What kind of bird is this?

Sure seems a strange time of year to be seeing a juvenile bird of any kind!! I'm seeing tons of cedar waxwing coming thru right now...their regular stops at the ornamental crabapples...flocks of 'em! They are a beautiful bird! A few years ago, I found one on the deck that had killed itself by hittin...

Thank you so much for the information! What I love about "this place" is thruout everyone's posts...their love, admiration, and respect for each particular plant species is so apparent....and then their ability to give such helpful hints and info is so readily shared!! Re: Parasites

Thanks Bill...great suggestion! I hated to just toss that big clump...but it was pretty badly infected. Stil have to take the time to check the other beds.

And Plantaholic...makes common sense to me that the secret is to get the moths!

How beautiful your work is! Love the designs and colors......thanks for sharing! I just started making "stone-felted bags"...after seeing it described in the "Detroit Free Press". I bought the roving on eBay...and I just happen to have quite an excess of stones in my gardens! It's such a simple proc...

ARGH! Those dastardly little wigglers! I had to throw away an entire clump this summer after finding it severly infested with iris borers......I'm afraid to look too closely to my other iris...... I should have known when there were so few blossoms. Info I read said to "get them out of your yard"......

Re: I thought orioles left for the season?

Very nice pic! I had an extra pair this summer...ALL of them made many visits to my hummer feeders....even tho I'd put out an oriole feeder.... I was surprised when they first arrived...as I worked in the yard (B.M.........before misquitoes) I was often flattered by the beautiful LOUD wolf-whistles ...
