Any ideas?

Well I woke up to this, this monring. Any ideas what could have done this? Nothing else was disturbed. Just this poor hosta. There is a strong urine smell. This is what it looked like the other day. Any ideas on what this hosta is or should I say what it was?

Re: Second year seedling

The seed came from Otome Shironakafu. Open pollination. Had this plant since Kathleen brought it to the get together back in 2008? Maybe she remembers  It grows like crazy for me. It is great for streaky seedlings. I have given lots away to family and friends. This year I used Cameo as a donato...

Second year seedling

This is the second year for this seedling. I didn't think it would come back this year, but here it is. I had to move it into a pot because of the place it had in the garden. It was near the walkway on I was afraid it would get stepped on. Any thoughts on how to winter it over? Should I plant it in ...

Was wondering if this is a coral bark maple. If so what is the full name if anyone knows. Newer leaves are reddish then turning green. Below are some pictures. Hope they turned out O.K. Thanks for any help :D

Hey Jane,
Could be a red shoulder hawk. We have a lot of these down here and they are about the same size as a crow. They are close to a red tail hawk also. To be real sure you need to see the underside as they fly. Red shoulder has a narrower and striped tail from the underside.
