Re: what did you not do?

I didn't get nearly as much "garden time" as I would have liked. There was so much to do INSIDE the new house that I didn't ge OUTSIDE as much as I would have liked.

Re: So what are you doing in your hosta gardens these days?

Personally, I'm letting "Wanda" Woman worry about that ... for now.(wink) Actually, because I don't have a single tree (where have I had that happen before?) on the property Gary and I are busy drawing up plans for a "shade house" ... If I get it done in time next year I'll be able to move some of m...

Re: A few more daylilies

Pat
PM me and I can give you my source or we could make an arrangement for a trade ... I'll have to wait until next year though because I just moved the clump this spring so hesitate to move it again or divide it at this time because it's blooming.

Some daylily photos

Here are just a few of the daylilies that have been blooming ... many are "dragons" and some are new to me but not new to the marketplace.

Re: Virus?

I will sometimes get mottled looking and twisted daylilies on first-year planted daylilies. Also, I have several daylilies that will get a blotchy look due to rain. Especially if it has rained overnight and the flower is opening ... it's like the rain washes out the color and leaves the flower looki...

Re: The Hallson Hosta Happening...

Thank you everyone for posting~ I felt like I was there reading all the posts. Sounds like another wonderful time. Gary and I had out of town visitors -- good friends that stayed Friday and Saturday night as well. Gary said he "owes" me because he made the plans and forgot to tell me. Yes, yes he ow...

Claudia, Please be patient with Dragon's Eye. You have four fans and from your description you had two fans last year (the larger two) and two smaller fans (those from this year) ... Like hosta some daylilies take time to settle in and usually by the third year are doing better. I had my first bloss...

Chris,
You're right about it being a later bloomer and you're doing good to have Dragon's Eye blooming now.
Dragon's Eye is a ML which mean it's on the later side and I don't expect to see a blossom until the end of July.

Jane, The house has a carriage house at the back of the property that has two apartments in it that we now own. My daughter has two rooms in the upstairs of the house that is just like having her own apartment. We feel very blessed to have found this house with so little to do to bring it back to it...

July 1, 2008 It's hard to believe it's been 10 months since I last wrote in this Helen Time Journal. Since September 2007 things were chaotic coupled with periods of calm. Now that things are settling down I have a few quiet minutes to sit and catch up the journal. In October 2007 we made the decisi...
