Clematis database?

Last season I was searching for a yellow clematis. I came across a site that listed what seemed like hundreds of different colors, types, sizes, etc.

I should have, but didn't, bookmark it. Now I'm having trouble locating it through Google. Anyone have the site, or one like it?

I use MSPublisher to create the image I want to transfer to the rock. I can size it easily with this program. Then I print it out and use carbon paper to transfer the outline of the picture/font to the rock. Paint pens, craft paint, india ink all work well. Protect with flat or gloss poyurethane and...

Time to plant?

I recieved two asiatic lilies and a Casablanca lily in a trade. Each has about 4 inches of stem attached. Can I put them in my garden now or . . . or, what?

Dustbunny, suspend reality for a minute. Imagine there is no checkbook to reconcile, every daylily in the universe past and present is immediately available on your request. Your only task is to whisper one name.

I have a rhododendron in my front yard that has barely made it through the winter. It looks like Wes Craven plopped it there. Maybe I'll plant a clematis next to it while I try and nurse it back to some semblence of health. I just returned 3 boxed Jackmanii clematis(es) to Lowe's. After fishing thro...

Go to your largest local nursery that carries statuary. They have catalogs they can order from. I was looking to replace a specific angel statue once and found it in one of the many catalogs behind the register desk. They ordered it for me and everyone was happy.

I get the black mulch delivered by the truckload from a local recycling plant. Never had it rub off on anything. But then, I don't walk through it once it's spread either. I love the look of color against a black background, like I love the look of jewels in a black velvet box.

But, that's me.

Tie a small piece of yarn, ribbon or fabric scrap to each plant the same color as the bloom. Then map it because no matter what you tell yourself, you will not remember anything after a few days.

It's very easy to use, the hard part is mixing the cement. I bought the mini cement mixer from the same company and had the kids roll it around the yard. That made the project go more easily. I did it all wrong--didn't dig up the grass or level anything. Just lay the mold down where I wanted it, pac...

Caliloo,
Take a look at Finding Blue from Stamile at this post. It's about the 9th reply down, under the motorcycle picture. Stunning.

Most desired daylily

In your own heart, what is the daylily you feel is the most beautiful, the one you love above all others?

I cleaned out a closet last weekend and guess what I found . . . yep, 2 Hefty bags of buttons.

Think I'll pick the best out and donate them unless anyone raises their virtual hand and asks for them.

Hi, Zack. I've been using smooth stones collected on walks on the beach for my hosta markers for many years. Sounds like the same technique you use--although I use the craft paints available everywhere. Most years I bring them in after the fall clean-up but this year I was lazy and they're still out...

Tami, don't feel bad, I did the exact same thing last Sunday evening--same foot even! Mine wasn't as deep and didn't need stitches, but MAN, did it hurt!

Guess I should've read your post before trying to cut quilt strip on the coffee table while watching TV (who knew?).

I agree with OED. The grout will fail unless it's spread over the whole background. If you do that, you lose the glass on glass look that's so striking. Very nice work! Where do you plan on placing it?
