you can remove the anthers before the flower opens but there is a chance the boy parts may not yet have opened up. snip/rip off the tip of the flower petals the night before you want to collect and I'd let them open in the am... with no flower petals the bee's cant land. beyond that.... i never save...

I had a dorset clown tht reverted to all blue but a couple div's.... i divided out the strk's and seperated the blues.... the strk DIED.... it took 2yrs but one of the Blue's tossed a streaked 'sport' back at me... so i've got a nice DC again.

arg... that would be tough... for me at least, giving up lake home for an inland lifestyle.... I know lake real estate is limited in availability... but i really think they should move closer.

i agree to some extent... but I've also seen raw sludge dumped in corn fields, etc.... at least this is processed... they've done some things to reduce the amt. I'd have to say atleast the deer still look healthy!!! :wink:

sun shouldn't be a concern.... i'd check for tree root entanglement.... that has kicked my hosta's butts a few times.

So far the suggestions offered are the best and most accessable. Boerner garden is just a very nice place to visit... hostas are a nice treat. The Johnson's garden is nice too. The only sport i've found in the garden this year... and it's a good one if it continues..... is a streaking developing in 2 eyes of my Dawn's Early Light.

Oh and another of my blue divisions of Dorest Clown has thrown another streaked division. YEAh!
