Most of my 'plant burn' occurs in March when the winter snows have melted so I dont' think that waiting untill late Dec or Jan would hurt. P.S love the close up hosta ph...

Re: Creeping Phlox?

I have noticed the 'winter burn' as well...I think your idea of covering it would reduce or eliminate the winter burn completely. I have never cut mine back but sometimes I sit there and manicure out the dead parts (wayyyyy too much time on my hands obviously).

Re: medium sized sun tolerant hosta

Thank you for the suggestions, I will look them up. I actually have June in 2 spots in my garden. One spot gets a lot more sun then the other and I agree the coloration is better in the shade. Here it sort of bleaches out and screams "I am stressed" but then again, it maybe asking for a sip of water.

Re: medium sized sun tolerant hosta

Thank you Linda and Pieter, I will look them up....I think I may have so sweet tucked away in another shadier garden and it is not happy there so perhaps I will move it come spring....and Pieter, I agree about not trusting people who don't have dog hair on their clothes lol.

medium sized sun tolerant hosta

May I have some suggestions for some small/medium sized sun tolerant hostas that are stunning? I want to mix them in with daylilys (I love the spiky/flat leaved contrast) but only have so much room.

anyone know who this is?

this is a daylily that was given to me but I don't know who it is...it is tall but the flowers are not large 3- 3 1/2. I am thinking it is a older variety.
