Combo

Interesting combo Roxanne. I have nice mature specimens of each in different parts of the gardens, perhaps they will meet this coming spring.

Whoops hit the wrong icon

I was resizing this picture of Summer Fragrance and got some fun results.

The plants are three years old and came off the $1 rack at the end of the season at a big chain. Not a bad deal.

shiney

It just looks shiny since Wisconsin if going through a monsoon season lately.
Thanks to everyone who said it looks nice but it still has to go.
Not really one that is worth all the room it takes in my gardens.

This is a 2nd year Fragrant Dream. I like both the leaves and the very nice flowers.

PP

You will find this hard to believe but this was just a no so big division off a mature plant one year ago. Careful where you put this one as it grows like crazy.

Masquerade

I found this little gem at a nursery very cheap and at first I questioned the ID of the plant. Has anyone else grown Masquerade? Does it start like this and then turn to the mostly white inner leaf?

Nursery

Good idea on the local nursery.

I usually try and get the neighbors to take all the hostas they want. They tend to hide now when they see me coming (just joking as all my neighbors grow some of my plants and love getting them)

Culling 101

Beginners course in how to cull hosta seedlings in the early spring. I started by throwing a ton of the greenies in the trash barrel and then looked at a bunch of container that were sitting around that hold annuals every year. So I randomly dug them out of the trash and planted them just to see how...

Learning

Since almost every garden or nursery you visit anymore seems to have some suspect plants, if it spreads that easy then we are all in trouble. Education is the key and by testing the plant, those with Walden such as my OS plant will know to destroy it. It is isolated and in my opinion poses no threat...

Not this year

No, not this year. Mary seemed to know it would not set pods this year before we closed our deal.
She has a lot of faith in how this one will do, so I can wait.
It came from her Streaked Roy El plants and crossed with her favorite blue Seedling.

Walden

I picked this one up just to have it tested. It is about to go into flower and I am going to do a cross with other pollen since the plant is completely separated and potted. I then intended to grow the seed (if there is any and completely separate from other plants) and see if the traits pass on to ...
