Re: "Fullofit" (wild4flowers)
Since it is the week end, I know there are some things that I do get done with my few hours off. I am trimming walls with paint in the kitchen, and taped it off and did some painting. The dog and cat got too playful overnight and knocked a quilt in progress to the floor. The dog, pulled some of the ...

Re: "Fullofit" (wild4flowers)
Here's another OMG, for this journal, how did all this time get away from me? Looks like its the same for most. I needed to help my grandson (age 10), and see that he got more father time with my son. That involved a pocketbook, and attorney. He's my only grandson,he deserves more of a chance in lif...

Re: Discombobulated bird
I have downy woodpeckers that are always flying into the picture window. Some fly away, some don't.
I even had a red tailed hawk fly into the window. Lucky me, he didn't break the window. But he must have had
one He** of a headache. He sat there for a long time before he flew away.

Re: My latest quilt project
This quilt is a Christmas present for son #1. It is denim and made from jeans.
I hit the goodwills, and salvation army stores for variations. It ought to hold up forever.
Heavy weight and definitely masculine.

Wedding quilt for Son #2. Called English wedding ring. I used bright colors because they like them. And I was real pleased at how it came out.

Rocky and christmas
11-13-11 032.jpg This shows that you can't set up a Christmas picture with every pet. I tried, but Rocky had other ideas. Everything is a toy. And the one with boxer lips peaking from under the table cloth....priceless. He was after the cat. He can scoot under the bench seat in no time flat. Char

Re: Obedience training for Rocky
Rocky has great social skills. But he's such a happy go lucky clown. I can meet and greet with others in class, and he'll just sit there, won't even lunge at other dogs. He has learned that, at least. Because it is what we always do there. But when it came to recall, he was too busy watching the oth...

Obedience training for Rocky
We made it through the first round of obedience training, and are now in the CGC training. I didn't even know what that meant, and am now smarter as is Rocky. Now, as a Canine Good Citizen, he should get along in many other situations that may arise. Rocky is 10 months old now and really likes going...

Re: Photo Shoot
I hung the ball, and then shortened the rope, and he plays with it all the time. He pounces and it comes back and hits him in the butt. It is a great purchase. Well worth the money.

Re: This is Rocky!
He has a new toy. This is a horse toy, called a Jolly Ball. It is sturdy, hollow, and no coating that can be chewed off. Rocky was overjoyed to get it as a new toy. He played with it forever, even turning down the smell of pizza. But it is way to big to be an indoor toy, so I'll hang it from overhea...

Re: This is Rocky!
Actually the 'donut' was just a teaser, and it only took a couple of times for it to work. And he doesn't get the whole thing, just a pinch of taste. And after that ,he'll shake for any treat. And since I always him him sit first, for any reason, when he 'sits', that paw just comes up without a cue.

Re: This is Rocky!
This was not a good week for Rocky. I worked all week, and he was home alone with my DH. Monday before I left for work, Rocky couldn't stand. He couldn't get his rear off the rug. I pulled him up and he hesitantly took some steps, but when he sat back down, he couldn't stand by himself. I did get hi...

She just lstened to his heart and said it was OK. Then drew blood and called me with the results, All normal. I assume that a blood sugar was one of them.
I haven't noticed another event so far.

Re: This is Rocky!
A trip to the vet revealed that Rocky weighs 55# now @ 7 mo. The main reason for the vet visit was: I suspected seizure activity, and witnessed one on Thursday. He just fell and was out of it. So I observed and took him in to the vet. She did lab work which was all OK, but ruled out other causes. Sh...

Re: This is Rocky!
He loves the snow - don't all dogs?-, but even more he loves Shovels, Brooms, Rakes, etc. Anything held in a hand with a long handle and something to grab at the end. So he isn't really a big HELP at shoveling snow.
