Hi, there... Sounds like you have nothing to lose by trying. Personally, if I could, I would take whole clumps of smaller ones that could be dug up. Then I would take as large a piece of the bigger ones as I could manage. I would dig it up partially, cut it through with a very sharp disinfected knif...

We've had a couple of hard frosts with lowest temp at 33, but several in the low 30's.
