I take no credit for the original idea, Ginger - I've just seen quite a few photos and had to try one. The old iron chairs you mentioned sound interesting so please post a picture when you're done :D

I bought mine last year, Ed, after seeing yours posted! Will have to go out and see if I can catch a whiff tomorrow. It's so tall I had to take a picture to actually see the tiny structure of those flowerheads. They kind of look like pink cotton candy from a distance

Thanks, Charla! Do you grow yours as container plantings or right in the ground and dig up the bulbs in the fall? Please post some pictures, it would be great to see more varieties in different settings.

Thriller, filler, spiller

This is the first year I've used a Caladium in the combo; really like the rich red coloring. Can't tell size very good from the photo but it's an 18 inch pot. Looks like my filler is spilling, too.

Pretty sure that's Mack the Knife. It does have very yellow orange margins and mine looks very similar to your photo.

Just gorgeous! And the pot is the perfect shape for it - wish I had better luck with overwintering pots. With me it's chancey at best.

The smallest container

Hope the garden sitter can keep this little guy alive while we're on vacation!

Have a safe and happy 4th of July!

Yep, Lucy. I use a generous half jar of each topping. You could customize this according to personal preference but half a jar is enough for our taste. It doesn't take long to thaw so I hope your sister has room in her freezer or you'll be eating dessert first, lol  !! Really though, when you c...

Great containers, David! I tried the fiber optic grass last year and couldn't make it happy - what growing conditions does it like? Maybe the three that died didn't have well developed root systems?

Thanks! I don't have a lot of container plantings but enjoy having a few for added interest. You're right, Annie, they do require frequent watering! All the more reason to admire everybody else's :D It's my first time growing an elephant ear from a bulb; just getting ready to unfurl a fourth leaf. H...

Here's my best container this year  I'm such a sucker for flowers spilling over old wood or rusted metal containers.

Sorry, Pat! Last year mine got hit with late freezing and hail; it's so disheartening. Your hosta must be good size from the photos - they'll store up lots of energy for next year and be even bigger.

Spring Fling was really slow to get going for me, not sure why but this is year 4! The big yellow is Daybreak, hard to describe the color because it seems to change constantly with the ambient light, more so than my other yellows. This pic was taken right before a thunderstorm; very dark, low sky. S...
