"My dad says that they think Roundup is fertilizer. I think he may be right. "

I think he's right too! They and raspberries don't seem to be hurt by Roundup!

I wonder if climate and other growing conditions are a factor? I have no trouble with my LOTV at all. Very well behaved so far. Violets are another matter. Our lawn is over an acre so there is no digging them out! If anyone knows how to kill them and not the grass please let me know!

Mine are in the early stages of waking up but there are some I suspect I lost to last year's drought. Whirlwind is one of those. We seem to be heading into the same weather pattern as last year so we may have a second year of drought. To avoid some of the problems I've been working watersorb crystal...

Ann I don't think the oak leaves will stop your bulbs. In fact they'll probably love those oak leaves!
My crocus came up and the rabbits promptly ate the leaves and flowers off  So I'm going to plant lots more daffodils since nothing will eat those

That is a dramatic difference! I've never seen that before and don't know anyone else who's June does that!!
Glad mine doesn't! She darkens a bit over the summer but never becomes all green like yours. Have you tried moving yours into more sun when it's starting to darken? Just curious here.

Debbie it's extremely easy but if you run into questions Kent is very willing to help out. Also he has a manual online, a forum where you can ask questions and a web site you can join. All of these combine to make this one very easy program to use. If you run into installation problems (a few folks ...

So Zillis is saying it's never all green ??????

Hi Reynaldo! Long time no see!!
I don't understand why June should start a lot of talk about different Junes because of it's color changes when almost every hosta changes over the seasons!

The Flower Program

There is a $30.00 program that is fantastic! Check out http://www.plantstep.com/ Currently they've been fine tuning the daylily section but they've just announced that hostas are the next section they will focus on. I find it invaluable in keeping an inventory of my plants! Recently they added a dat...

Chris do you know if that kind of fence will also stop dogs (our own and strays) and rabbits? My other arch enemies. This year we're adding chickens to our animals and I expect they will bring their own brand of trouble.

caliloo I've seen canola oil used for that purpose. Can't it replace the Wilt Pruf in your formula?

Have you tested this before? Did it work for you? Do you spray it on?

states all have different rules on these things. I can't get most weed killers and bug systemics here without a license while over in Ohio or Pa the same products might be available!

You must have unique deer out your way! Here the females spend most of the year with other females and their offspring. Males tend to travel alone unless they're young males and then they group together. The genders come together only at the rut (mating season) and separate once it's over. Fences ar...

Izzy we do when they're in season. Unfortunately the season only last a few weeks in December and then it's illegal to kill them. No one said I couldn't scare them off  One of my favorite meats!

I'm a bit worried cause I am seeing far more on a daily basis than last year.

I saw a research paper that indicated hanging soap bars at the height of a deers nose helped to deter them. I haven't tried it yet. There seem to be more deer this year. Last Thursday I caught 3 adults eating our lawn in broad daylight. I had to really shout to get them to run away. Now I'm using th...
