Aud how brilliant with the Styrofoam test boxes!
Great Idea!
That yellow rose is a beauty.
Check out my website's rose pages.
You might get some ideas there for gold hardy roses.
Cheers! :D

Re: Warning! Tea Tree Oil can be toxic to pets!

Thank you Dusty. :)
They just flushed her ears out with saline solution to get any left over TTO

Re: Warning! Tea Tree Oil can be toxic to pets!

I've used TTO in my mouth on canker sores with no problems
but dogs are biologically different than humans and can
obviously react differently to some things.
Yup live and learn...and thats why I posted this info here...
to warn others.

Re: Warning! Tea Tree Oil can be toxic to pets!

It can be used topically and its in many shampoo's etc. but full strength may effect some pets.
Even topically it can absorb into the system.
We figured it drained down into our dogs throat and so she got a big enough dose to adversely effect her.

Re: Warning! Tea Tree Oil can be toxic to pets!

Lucy TTO is a natural anti-fungal/anti-bacterial so I thought I would try it since it was the weekend and I thought it might give her some relief until I could get her into the vet. My mistake. Ginger, Deckers are indeed over sized Rat Terriers. :) Very cool dogs! Even my non-dog lover husband loves...

Warning! Tea Tree Oil can be toxic to pets!

My dog had an allergic/ toxic reaction when I self treated her for a possible ear infection. I put some full strength TTO in her ears and 4 hours later she was staggering around and had ALL of the below symptoms listed below. We ended up taking her to an emergency animal hospital because it was afte...

Re: Update on Shelby & Premium Dog Food Q

HI Lucy... I meant I switched her to Innova puppy plus added yogurt. Is it recommended to switch brands from time to time? Maybe Shelby is just growing up and why she seems to be less hyper. Guess we're not use to high energy breeds. Our Chihuahua's are couch potatoes and our previous big breed dogs...

Re: Update on Shelby & Premium Dog Food Q

Just an update on Shelby. She's been on Innova Puppy formula for one week and I do believe her poo isn't as stinky. I know its not good to try 2 new things at once but I've also been giving her a about 4 Tbs. of plain Stoneyfield yogurt a few times over the last week. Something else I've noticed...s...

Re: Update on Shelby & Premium Dog Food Q

Hello gals...thank you for your comments. :) Well it goes without saying that poop stinks but this seems more than your typical stink. Its smells pretty bad. Since I have no prior experience with premium dog food I just thought I'd see what others had to say about it. Lucy a posted a q. on dogforums...

Update on Shelby & Premium Dog Food Q

Shelby our Decker Terrier is now 6 months old and doing very well. She loves her tennis ball and frisbee time. Her dry coat is gone and she seems to be thriving on EVO dog food albeit one concern...her poop is the rankest dog poop I've ever smelled and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the...

Update: 5 days later and Shelby's flakes are gone! :D I must admit that seemed a bit fast but the dandruff is gone! So I'm assuming she does indeed have some type of allergy that the EVO seemed to of remedied. The Chihuahuas are on a mission to steal Shelby's food even though I put some of the EVO i...

I plan on taking Sheby to the vet but I've just been so busy. I'm not overly concerned because shes shiny and silky and not a lot of flakes. Can't imagine how you would deal with a grass allergy! Wow! Yes, we love the Chi's too. My husband calls them "Dumb & Dumber" but guess who gets kisses first w...

Thank you all for your tips. I got some EVO (no grain) yesterday and have been mixing a little in their current kibble. Shelby and the Chihuahuas certainly haven't turned their noses up to it but its so high in protein & fat I wonder if I should give it to my older dogs. I may need to find a premium...

I planned on trying the better dog food. Just hope there not too much trial & error.
I may very well have to do agility with this dynamo.
Shes VERY intelligent and will need something to channel that into.

I've been reading all morning and one reoccurring theme is the premium foods give a lot of dogs diarreah....not from switching too fast but apparently because of the high meat content. :(

Thanks much for the info and links. I guess I wasn't aware there was grain free dog foods out there but I would be concerned about making her more hyper since shes already a high energy breed. We got her for rat patrol on the farm and hunting with hubby. Do these all meat brands make puppy formulas?

Puppy has dandruff

Our 3 month old "Decker" Rat Terrier Shelby has dandruff. Her coat is shiny and silky but she has tiny white flakes over her back area. Maybe it just shows up better due to the black color there. We feed her Purina ONE Puppy Formula which is 25% protein and 16% fat. First 4 ingredients. are: lamb, c...
