Re: Has anyone overwintered inside the house?

Thanks, Chris! I'll probably have too many other plants in the house to bring the heuchera inside, anyway. Maybe I could try just one and see how it does (I'll see if I can squeeze one into my House Jungle!) But I love the flower sprays too much to mess with their cycle, so I'll most likely either p...

Re: Overwintering in containers--yea or nay?

Thanks!! That was a wonderful response! I appreciate all the info! :D I may try some inside the garage, and some outside with protection. Either way, I'll try to make sure they have good drainage!

Has anyone overwintered inside the house?

Has anyone successfully overwintered a heuchera/ella inside the house in a container? I know most perennials need a dormancy period, and I have a nice garage that would do the trick (let them get cold but still protect them)....but the leaves on some are so pretty I want to see them in the house dur...

Overwintering in containers--yea or nay?

Chris W.-- With fall and winter around the corner, I am planning out my steps for winter storage of all my potted perennials! Over the past few years, I have had great success with placing my containers with hostas, daylilies, ferns, clematis, etc. in the garage to overwinter. I will do so again thi...

Yes--that one is looking incredible! I thought I was craving a nice Paul's Glory, but maybe Thunderbolt wins out. (Or let's be honest, maybe I'll get both     )
I've only seen photos of this type, and none have been this lovely. Have you done anything special with it?

Thanks to all for the welcome! You seem quite an active group!! And yet you all live so far away from one another... Yes, I do believe I would already classify myself as a "hosta addict"... I already count 66 plants ... and the local botannical garden has some hostas that literally make me giddy. :w...

Thanks, Chris! That helps a lot!! And I think it's very interesting how plants can respond to change/stress...almost like animals sometimes.

I will definitely find a good home for these guys!

Is reverting to green common?

Greetings--- Has anybody ever had their hostas revert to solid green? Take a look at the attached picts... The leaves were variegated. The plants were stepped on, divided, repotted, and maybe dehydrated... The leaves originally looked like they might have HVX, with odd wavy deformations and color st...

It is only the second spring...and I can't believe how huge they are all getting! They must love it there! The next three are of the...

Hosta HVX or just stressed? (type unknown)

Hello all-- I am new to Hostas and posting, so I am learning much here! Wondered if I could ask for help... My dad gave me part of his old Hosta recently--he had to dig it up because it was getting stepped on by dogs and people. In the process of looking up the type of Hosta, I ran across info on HV...
