I really was just kidding about the vac, but, oddly enough, one of my earlier gifts to my missus on Mother's Day was a Snapper lawn mower. I won't make that kinda of mistake, again. I found out today, though, that the Banana Shrub at the local nursery is actually Michelia skinneriana (Magnoliaceae f...

Well, I suppose I could return that new vacuum cleaner I already got her for Mother's Day.... :-?

On the other hand, that's a dang nice vacuum cleaner!

Maybe the Fuscata would be even better.

I think I'll do it!

Thanks for the hint, y'all. :D

uh... no...

But I probably will, eventually. Just take me a couple of visits to make such a weighty decision. :D

PS: It took me 4 years to get the gal!

Funny you should mention that. My girlfriend (now wife of 26 years) had one outside her window when we were dating. What time that was! That girl... cool spring nights... the scent of the banana bush floating on the air while we sat in the porch swing and I was doing my best courting! Ah, the memori...

Dee,

Oops, I left that part off; yes the Little Henry is itea.

I've been scouring the internet for info. The more I read, the better they sound.

Thanks for the reply.

Little Henry itea & viburnum Tomentosum Watanabei

Little Henry & Viburnum Tomentosum Watanabei (said to be virtually identical to Viburnum Summer Snowflake). I went to the local nursery and saw these two a couple of times. I tried not to, but I finally had to buy 'em on my visit today. Can't wait to get them in the ground and start enjoying them. A...

I'm watering it about every couple of days. I hope that's ok. It's a nicely shaped plant, and it has buds that will probably opend in the next 4-6 days, I would guess. I put my best effort into the hole in order to try and give it its best chance. The fellow helping me at the nursery center said tha...

WOW! I like a lot!

I was considering some arisaema I saw at the local nursery. They were nice. Can't remember the name, but they were nothing like as impressive as those in your pics. I need some like yours. Really really beautiful!

Watering the new rhododendron

Just put in the new rhododendron (Nova Zembla) yesterday. Did my best with prep, hole and all.

High temp here in GA was about 70 yesterday and today and sunny.

Question is: how often do I need to water initially, and how about in a month or so?

Thanks

Ok, I feel the need to add my little list. Short as it may be, I now consider myself a hosta enthusiast, and have learned so much from reading this forum over the last year. My hostas have all decided to reappear this spring, and I am very thankful. All appear to be in great shape and all have added...
