Re: Hosta 'World Cup'

Hi Ann,
Here is picture of World Cup at Giboshihill Hostas.
I immediately wanted it in my collection. Can't comment on growth yet because we just got it last year.

Re: Hostas of the Year - 2015 and 2016

I had the same thought as you, Chris. I think there are other hostas that have been around much longer that deserve the title HOTY first since Curly Fries has only been available for a few years (as far as I know). But then again, it's not HOTY until 2016 which is 3 summers away so by the time that ...

I wish I could get my hands on a piece  but I'm thinking it may be a while before it makes its way to Canada.

jerryshenk, redcrx's plants do not have Southern Blight...that is how they are supposed to look. Re: Invicible problems

It looks like nematodes to me as the yellow and brown appears in between the veins. Let's see if others agree.

Re: Invicible problems

It's hard to tell as the picture is not a close up of the leaves but from a distance it looks like the yellowing resembles nematode damage. Any possibility of posting close up leaf pictures on the yellow areas to make it easier to confirm?

Re: 'Frisian Pride'

Hi Ann, I have seen 'Frisian Pride' at a few nurseries in Ontario including Hosta Choice and Goldenbrook Hostas and they all look like yours. Yours is actually a good size with all those leaves. Since they are brand new tissue culture and advertised as young TC plants by those two vendors, I think i...

Re: IntheCountryGarden Anyone???

I couldn't tell you what the companies charge (I think most use Fedex or Canada Post). I will only order online if the shipping is free or if the discount is tempting enough. I am lucky because most of the hosta businesses I buy from are in Ontario and I can usually stop at the farther places on the...

Re: IntheCountryGarden Anyone???

Just wanted to chime in and say that I was quite impressed with the selection offered by In The Country Garden and Gifts and if I lived in the United States instead of Canada, they would definitely be one of the places I'd order from.
Come to Canada and see what $20 will get you! LOL!
