Another picture of an immature GA. Only planted last summer. Can't wait till it fills in like some of the above. Hoping it will be nicely proportioned and that my photography skills improve.

Here's another sprintime shot of HP. Also planted in 2010. My HP gets lots of afternoon sun, although planted under spruce trees.

Re: Pic of the Day--Sunlight Child
What a great little plant. The flower scapes are perfectly proportioned. I didn't take a pic this year. I ended up pruning my Japanesee Waterfall Maple so it would get some light.

Re: Pic of the Day--Sun Power
One of my very favorite hostas which I planted in 2007 when I caught THE hosta bug. Mine never gets that golden colour as it's planted in shade but it does droop when it needs water as Wanda mentions. I love its shape and upright habit.

Re: Daily Hosta #2 - 'Ice Cream' - Add your pics
I really like Ice Cream. I planted it last summer and on August 2nd this past summer, it's looking relatively good in a spot that doesn't get much light and is prone to slug and earwig damage.

Re: Daily Hosta #2 - 'June' - Add your pics
Seems like everyone's Junes are just a little different depending on location. I like them all. I bought a second June this year which I planted in more open sunlight. I'm looking forward to seeing what it looks like next year. This is the best picture I have of my mature June. It was taken on May 3...

Those are great looking Little Sunspots. I planted a second LS in the same spot after I lost my first and it took.

Re: New Hosta of the Day - Sleeping Beauty
Thanks for the nice words, Chris. Sorry to hear about your Kitty. Like you I've planted a hosta in memory of our miniature poodle. I used Guardian Angel, which doesn't look that great yet. I found this little rock, which I set beside GA. Everytime I read it I choke up.

Re: New Hosta of the Day - Sleeping Beauty
I planted SB in 2012. This pic was taken on June, 2012. It's doing well despite tree root competition because it's watered daily.

When I bought my Honeybells in 2007 it was mislabelled as Royal Standard. Royal Standard doesn't have droopy leaves like this.

Re: Hosta of the Day "Thunderbolt" - Post Your Pics
I love my 'Dream Queen' . I lost my 'Dream Weaver'. My Thunderbolt is immature and hanging on. I see a big difference between Phil and Gayle's beautiful 'Thunderbolt and my "Dream Queen'.
I hope my "Thunderbolt ' equals theirs in time.

Love everyone's pictures of Luna Moth. I'm glad I bought it.
Thy, my LM is under a limbed up spruce tree, right at the outer edge of the planting bed, eastern exposure.

RocknHostas, my LM definitely needs a rock! Nice touch. I can't remember seeing flowers on mine although I noted dry scapes on Sept. 2.

Re: Hosta of the Day - Dress Blues
The colours of this hosta remind me of 'Frosted Dimples' which I have. Does anyone have both and if so, how do they compare in regard to substance and vigor?

Re: Daily Hosta #3 - Luna Moth
As an afterthought I checked out parentage. 'Luna Moth' is a sport of 'Parky's Prize' and 'Gemini Moon' is a sport of 'Abiqua Moonbeam' (source of info: Fransen Hostas).

Re: Daily Hosta #3 - Luna Moth
Bought LM last year when I couldn't get 'Gemini Moon'. These pictures were taken on May 22 and June 18. It was left untouched by cutworms, slugs, earwigs all summer. I checked out ViolaAnn's 'Gemini Moon' and the two hostas do look a lot alike.

Re: Hosta of the Day - "Wolverine" - Post Your Pics
This hosta has been a good and fast grower for me. Picture taken June 10 this year. Guacamole wasn't showing much variegation, so I removed some tree branches for more sun last year. However, the extra sun bleaches out Wolverine's colour later in the season, so I'm moving them to a new location with...

Re: Hostas of the day -'Tokudama Nebulosa' and 'Blue Shadows
Everyone's pictures remind me why I bought those two hostas in the first place. My TN (bought in 2007) has been very slow to increase. I bought a bare root plant that had been growing in compost. I don't think I planted it properly, then moved it adding a second plant to the clump. It's just startin...
