My favorite late bloomers are
1.eupatorium Chocolate..beautiful dark foliage all season and white flowers now
2.daylily Sandra Elizabeth...large yellow flowers, has been blooming since August!
3.aconitum Carmichealii Arendsii.vivid dark blue, sturdy self-supporting

Another great monarda is Raspberry Wine.Not as tall as the common one, but not as short as PD.A beautiful colour, just like the name. It is a bit invasive, but easily contained with that black plastic edging..

I have many different sedums and all are planted in full sun in sandy, gravelly soil with some compost mixed in. Some varieties flop like that at the end of the season...Brilliant, Autum Joy, Strawberries & Cream and the variegated ones seem to be the best for staying up.

Hi Deb, A few tips ..don't waste your money on peat pots...to start my seeds I use the plastic boxes that berries come in . A square of wet newspaper in the bottom keeps the soil from falling out...I find using plastic cuts down on mold..also a thin layer of pearlite and a sprinkle of cinnamon preve...
