Re: Daylily seedlings

They are all beautiful. I'm especially fond of the 3rd picture series #2 & #3, 4th picture series #5, and the 5th picture series #1. Needless to say, I'm partial to the coral colors.

Re: Solid green sport - does it rob nutrients or feed them?

I agree with what you are saying Chris. Lately, I allow the solid green to grow for a year or two. I had a 'June' that was doing very well with one solid, green eye. Instead of lifting the plant out of the ground, I took a sharp paring knife and removed the eye by doing a coring like cut into that p...

It really isn't mauve either. I'll try to add a picture here. It'll be my first posted picture. Even though it looks pink here, the actual flower seems to be a dingy red. Thanks for your help.

I have one that just bloomed that looks like yours. I got it in a grab-bag from Chris about 3 or 4 years ago. Mine has a light reddish, rusty color. I wouldn't call it pink nor would I call it red.

My Mr. Big and S&S are in the same garden close to each other. My S&S is several years older, but it isn't as big as Mr. Big either in clump size or leaf size.

My Guardian Angel from Chris is in deep shade. It looked like Blue Angel while it was still young, but it came up with beautiful wings (oops, I mean leaves) this summer.

Hallsons is my favorite Hosta mail order site. On a whole, the plants have the most mature root systems of any hosta that I've ordered. I get very excited waiting to find out what the freebie is going to be each time. I even have my husband getting me Hallson's gift certificates for my birthday.
