They are both beautiful!
My Dream Weaver came up really small this year and then it just disappeared.

Re: In bloom today... lots of fun stuff
Just beautiful Andi!!! Love the Penstemon and the Sarracenia. I missed this when you first posted it and Brad's post in The Garden Bench brought me searching for the eryngium pic. I received some seeds for it recently. I can't wait to get them growing.

Re: Smashed hosta
Yes, They will be just fine. :D The electric company ran over two of mine several years ago and they didn't miss a beat. This summer, they had to replace a section of underground cable again and I dug up the two hostas they ran over last time. I'm afraid they took a worse beating by being dug up th...

Re: Keep an eye out for voles!
Good luck with your Guardian Angel Linda. I hope it isn't badly damaged. Thanks Chris. I will definitely pick up some of that bait. We put out one mouse trap on Sunday. Jon came home with four more yesterday. I found more holes in the backyard where I recently planted three hostas. I just went out ...

Keep an eye out for voles!
I was not a happy camper this morning. :( The voles have returned to my garden. I guess they aren't going to wait until it gets cold to start munching on hostas. This is what remains of Blue Mouse Ears. It was sitting in one of the holes. Thankfully I have more than one. So far, I don't see any mor...

They are called proliferations. I have never found any in my garden but here is an article about what to do with them.

Oh cool Claudia! I can't wait to see pics of them next year.
My newest additions came from Hallson's in mid-August. I got Janice Brown, Regency Heights and my bonus was Fragrant Treasure.

Thanks Chris! Some of mine look absolutely horrible.
I'll keep watering now that I'm home but not today because It has literally been raining all day.

Re: Lookie Karma!
My toes are crossed! I hope she gets lots of seeds. I'll have to share with my neighbor. I shared a couple of the ones that you told us to dispose of with her. She called me to tell me how much she liked them and was really disappointed when I told her to get rid of them.

Re: Lady Fingers
You're welcome Ginger but I only knew because I got some from my neighbor many years ago when we still lived in Illinois. She called them Hardy Amaryllis. Mine are not blooming this year. Maybe it's time to divide them again. One year I was looking from the kitchen window and complaining to DH that...

Hi Jane! I don't grow it but I found this info on wikipedia. Maybe you don't have the kind that forms the bulb. Read under Cultivation and Uses.

Very pretty Ed!
I saw someone's surprise lilies blooming a few days ago. I have to remember to go out and look for mine tomorrow.

I was wondering who in the world wrote the article too. I went and found this before I read the other posts and saw Chris' link.
