I'd pot them up for a while to see what climates you have within your yard. Growing hostas in Co. is no harder than in Iowa or Canada just have to remember where a little closer to the sun.
PS... I can be there in an hour if you decide you don't want both of them

Just a few pics of my critters..it would take days to put them all up...breeding herps for 25 years you tend to get a few...I didn't even bother putting up the Blue Tongue Skink..Savanah Monitor..desert iguana...I could keep going but it would be boring reading...It's just nice to see others getting...

Roaches are so misunderstood :D You might have no choice to feed insects though...I've raised and breed over 400 BD'S and many of them just won't eat greens as much as you'd like. With as many as I have I really had no choice to turn to roaches as feed and in a few years I think more pet stores are ...

I'm with Viktoria, I took the course at CSU which is suppose to be 1 of he best in the country because of he Ag. program. There were people I question if they knew what grass was. Now I do admit the people you meet might be worth it. I think if you befriend a person at a nursery you'll learn a lot m...

My first thought was kind of with Chris...I just went to a Home Depot in Longmont CO and almost all of their hostas had HVX. I'm sure that most of these hostas had to come from just about the same place because this isn't hosta zone. They have to be shipped in from somewhere!!! This is definitely a ...

Forget the crickets, too much shell and not enough nutrients...buy a few non-pest species cockroaches that don't climb glass and breed them...no buying crickets that stink up the house and no money out of the pocket except for initial purchase. 1 of my female BD's passed away 2 days ago but I'd had ...

My opinion is there is only 1 OS plant out there. If you get a peice of that plant it's OS...but if you get a part of that division plant it's no longer OS...since hostas are unstable you can't guarantee that division will be just like the origional OS. I think thats why we have problems with certai...

Can't compete with OED, but I started breeding and showing Dalmations in 94, stopped in 98 when Disney basically ruined the breed...started breeding and showing both Chihuahuas and Dobermans in 96.. and pomeranians in 97. I still show a Chihuahua and a Japanese Chin. Otherwise. I'm young but I've ne...

What I ment by it once you change the area of the plant your changing it's conditions. Whether it be lighting or the soil...etc... SO if you take a division and the conditions being changed the amount of seeds produced would be changed. It would be hard to test whether a TC or OS would produce bette...

You wouldn't be able to do a study of this anyways, since hostas aren't geneticaly stable. 2 different seeds from the same pod will be genticaly different even if they look alike. Just too many variables. TC'ing only quickens the process of sports that would in time show up eventually ,may take a fe...
