Because of soil conditions...nutrients, amount of sun and many other factors, you can take the exact same hosta out of your garden and put it in mine and there COULD be a difference in the way the hosta looks...and I didn't say every...if it was taken that way it wasn't ment. It was ment garden to g...

I may not be able to register it (which nobody has actually proven, so far) but I can use the name, like it or not ...although most people might be gentleman...there are people out there who are not... So far what this has proven is that many people think AHS is a joke. So convince me why we should ...

I didn't say anything about Little Hobber...and like I said...theres 100's of hostas out in the market that are not registered...pick 1, any 1...doesn't matter...Being wrong about 1 hosta(in this case Ice Age Trail) has nothing to do about the subject ... I couldn't find it's registration. It's abou...

I don't beleive that any one should HAVE to register a hosta , but if they don't the name doesn't exist and that name is open to usage by anyone...thats the easy insentive to have somebody to register a hosta. Registering a hosta is to protect the name of the hosta wether it's a plain Jane hosta or ...

Kent thats where the disagreement comes in...although you have released that name you don't have it r...

Ice Age Trail is not registered...You'll notice the NR next to it's name on the hosta library...just because it's in the library doesn't mean it's registered. I'm not concerned about a hosta thats in a persons yard thats not being marketed...it's the 1's that are on the market that make it a problem...

My point is Renaldo is that none of those hostas are published and none of them truely exist by name and could be used by anyone. I could register a hosta under any of those name and put a PPAF next to it which could very easily cause both the origional hybridizer problems and now I have 2 hostas of...

I can't tell you how hard it is to write this when you are crying. I lost my best friend other than my wife this morning at 2:48. I laid next to him on the floor watching this majestic dog die in my arms praying for his pain to stop. Petting his ears like he liked it so. Only a few wimpers then a fe...

Heat and crossing hosta
I'm curious how this heat has affected the people who hybridize hostas? I have a total of 3 seed pods on Climax that have taken and that is it and those were crossed in July when we were actually getting rain. Nothing is taking and it has to be the heat ...105 degrees is just rediculous in Colorado....

Personaly I'm staying away from the streaked seedlings, theres just soo many of them and I just don't see a future in them in my garden. I'm starting to think you only need 3 of them a small 1 a medium 1 and a large 1. The only 1 I've tried is from Disorder and haven't gotton a streaked 1 in the bun...
