I'd give it a fungicide and hope for the best.

I have yet to see a picture of 'Blue Ivory,' which I don't own, that has anywhere near the creamy yellow margin with soft blue interior that makes 'First Frost' unique for the first part of the season.

I keep my water-fertilizer solution in gallon milk jugs, and try to let them sit a day before use. At Hosta College class some years ago Mary Chastain advised a drop or two of dishwashing liquid per gallon. This has worked for me. No algae at all

Plant it in the ground. There is plenty of time for it to form roots. It does that next month.

There was extensive flooding in North Dakota about 10 years ago. A couple who had moved there from Western New York would stop by and visit me when home to see relatives. Their Hostas were under water for about 10 days with no lasting damage.

I do it all the time with my seedlings. I threw away 3 in quart pots just yesterday, stripping away any usable soil, and recycling their pots.

Your story is worth far more than that freak of nature plant.
