Re: Anyone have Don Quixote?

Here's a pic. of a small piece of XTG taken this morning, in the rain :-) Most of the plants around it have gone down, or are all yellow, but this one is still hanging in. Looks a lot like yours, minus pods.

Re: Anyone have Don Quixote?

Chris, your plant does look like one of the XTG's I have. Only picture I can find of DQ is from 2003, and I cropped it out of a grouping. My plant today looks real bad, it's been raining, and it's mostly green, no pods. Like Josh said, it is glossy and I think I may have had a couple of pods on it, ...

Re: Anyone have Don Quixote?

Chris, I have one, have had it for quite a few years. Supposed to be a streaker, hard to keep as such. Don't think I have any recent pics. of it, but may still be able to take one tomorrow, not sure, haven't looked in that part of the garden for a while :( I'm sure if you post a pic, I can say yes o...

Re: Bittttt-tt-tt-terly cold. Damage ahead?

Don't worry...not much you can do anyhow. We usually have a few frigid days in a row each yr. and the hostas live. The one year we had 40 below at night for 4 consecutive nights, and daytime temps. never above 10 below, hurt a few old old hostas, but the new young stuff survived. W e are also predic...

Re: So what are you doing in your hosta gardens these days?

Watering and shuffling, as much as I can with the dry hot weather we are experiencing. I always move hostas around this time of year, who cares about the foliage!? I'm actually hoping they would all fall apart in the next couple of weeks so I would once, in many yrs. , be ahead of the fall clean-up ...

I don't think it matters, Alexa, that its green right now. Its a young plant, and depending how and where it was grown could be a factor. Plant it, wait and seen next year. Good luck :D
