Thanks alot Roxanne, that helps!! I know hosta are unstable, and I guess that's what makes them so much fun for me......just waiting to see how much they can change.

I'm gonna see if I can get DH to figure out how to post a pic of Allan P. McConnell. You should see it, it's beautiful.

I know.........

I know that Hyacinthina has a habit of putting off streaking sports, but they are not usually stable. But how about Francee and Allan P. McConnell? Both of mine have some streaking. Francee has one big eye and two small eyes and APM has one small eye.

Do the weeds add alot of value to the compost? I didn't even know anyone put them on compost until I read it in this post. I'm the only person I know around here that has a compost bin so I have no one to compare with.

Homer, I will try to answer your questions as best I can. The reason I went with the misters rather than the drip is becasue to my way of thinking the drip method was more for individual plants rather than a group of plants. I didn't do any research on it since my husband was willing to do it I just...

I have really been adding to my compost this year too. I have a bucket I keep out of the way in my house for stuff I can use out of my home like pet hair, hair from our brushes, lint from the dryer, the cardboard roll out of toilet paper and paper towels and any junk mail or paper in general that do...

Helping to bump this up, because I would like to see what Hank has to say too. But if it helps any. My DH and I put in a misting system in two of my largest hosta beds this year and I can see a tremendous difference in the hostas in those beds vs. my other beds (which I now know that I need to water...

This year I have added several streakers to my collection. I wish I could get DH to figure out how to post pics......but.

Anyway, I have Ice Age Trail, Galaxy, Stargate and Regal Provedence. And I love 'em. Even if they never set seed, I really love the way they look.

Thanks you guys! I wasn't aware that a sport could revert that far back in it's lineage. I think this one is going on the compost pile since I already have three Hyacinthina's. Anne I also have the same thing going on on Abba Dabba Do. It has one gold eye, which I understand that means it's revertin...

What does it mean??

If Risky Business is a sport from Striptease, and Striptease is a sport from Gold Standard, and GS is a sport from F. Haycinthina...then does that mean an all green (light gr) eye on RB is a sport or a reversion??
