I would contact the local English Bulldog Rescue Group. I found these contacts for Indiana and I would start with them. Many dogs that come through rescue are not necessarily abused and from bad homes. Sometimes they are beloved pets that for one reason or another the owners can no longer keep them....

I have fairly heavy clay soil and have spent the last few years adding yards of organic compost, goffee grounds, chopped leaves, etc to my beds and yest they still seem too clay-y. Someone suggested I top dress with about an inch of sand (not sandbox sand) and that will help. It seems conterintuitiv...
