The choices weren't all mine, I'm splitting a bunch of them with my cousin, I'll leave them in the pots and divide in the Spring. Thanks for the feedback and wisdom, I would have made the mistake of putting Sum Of All in a sunnier location.

I'll be headed over to O'Brien's Nursery in Granby CT today. This is their last weekend of the year and everything is 20% off. I'm thinking I can get myself into lots of trouble over there.

I think I'm going to try a Sharpie Paint Marker before investing in label capability.

Thanks for the responses. I didn't know you needed a laser printer, I only have an ink jet. I'll look into the other suggestions, thanks!

I bought a bunch of zinc labels, the kind with 2 wire legs, and wrote on them with a Sharpie, but they are already fading. I've seen references to using address labels printed with a computer as a more lasting solution. Does anyone do that?

I saw this one this summer at O'Brien's Nursery.

I've been dividing hostas at will all summer. I have the distinct advantage of not knowing any better. Next year might be another story.

Yes, you can't beat how fast S&S grows! I tried to choose varieties with some sun tolerance for this location which does get a modest amount of sun.

Actually an old bed, reclaimed from a nondescript perennial with a massive root system that had spread all over. This strip along the garden fence has gotten increasingly shady as an oak behind me has grown, so.... The corner is anchored by Sum and Substance, then Spilt Milk, Dragon Wings, Pizzazz, ...

Is that a road trip or a pilgrimage?

If any hosta deserves it's own garden area, it is June.
