Potting Bench in my Porch
Just christened my new potting bench this past weekend. I've been collecting ideas for some time and spotted this one at HD store - prebuilt and sturdy. Measures 6' long and about 20" deep on work area and 35" tall. Assembly was fold legs down and rest the shelf in the leg notches. It was unfinished...

Good spots for a picture
Seems like there a few spots in my garden that always yield a nice picture - light is right, composition is attractive and frame is filled nicely. Here's one of those spots in my garden. http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk42/jonda001/DSC07823.jpg Please add pics of some of your favorite spots. Tha...

Re: What do you think of these plants?
My second year with Nancy, came back strong and is growing well. http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk42/jonda001/HostaNancy11.jpg Also second year with Stand By Me, looks to be a very strong grower as it leapt Very heavy wax so I planted in some sun late last summer - doing well so far. http://i277...

Re: Rodgersia
Planted my first one in 2006 and it has grown to a nice large specimen. Growing in mottled shade under oaks. Bloom is like a large astilbe. Have added a few since - stay away from liner size - they are taking forever to get going. Here's a pic from 2011 - for size comparison the hostas in front are ...

USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map***new 2012***
Well, my area now only gets to an average annual minimum winter temperature of -25 instead of -30 (now 4b instead of 4a) -- time to plant some cactus...lol.

Re: Daily Hosta #1 - 'Frances Williams' - Add your pics
Leaf from a couple of years ago - one of last to emerge due to soil very slow to warm in this location. I think this helps some with desiccation. http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk42/jonda001/HostaFrancesWilliams05-2.jpg Finally added some divisions last year (planted 05). http://i277.photobucket...
