Re: Emerald Ruff Cut problem

Nope, didn't move it. I believe you! Of my stunted ones, I have 'Paradigm,' 'Lakeside Paisley Print' and 'Torchlight.' Only 'Paradigm' looks anything like it should, except that it now looks like a 2nd year seedling instead of the 3 or 4 year old plant it was. The other two don't even resemble thei...

Re: H. 'Candy Dish'

Candy dish has done well for me but I'm not sure it is as advertised....which I seem to recall being very glossy with good substance. Mine has a slight sheen and what I would consider as "ok" substance. I agree with this assessment. Mine looks shiny in the photo above because of the rain, but other...

Re: Emerald Ruff Cut problem

I agree with Ann. I've had some stunted hostas as a result of the drought that just don't look like they should this year. They're significantly smaller and misshapen. I'm hoping they recover some this year and look better next year.

Re: Komodo Dragon

Surprising how much taller yours is! Mine's taller than the picture shows, but nothing like that. I hope it does get some height. Mine are still unfurling somewhat and doing their spring growth thing. We'll see how it looks in a few weeks. Still, I don't think it'll be that tall.

Re: Plant spacing

I'm really sweating the spacing thing today. I've already moved a couple of hostas and now I'm second-guessing my decisions. Just how long can a person stand out in the yard with a shovel in one hand and the other hand on her hip staring at the garden trying to envision it perfectly laid out?...

Miracle Grow Moisture Control potting soil

There's a discussion on the American Hosta Society Facebook page about Miracle Grow Moisture Control potting soil and trouble with hostas not overwintering. I used the Miracle Grow Moisture Control last year, and every single hosta that I lost to crown rot was planted in that medium. Others I left i...

Welcome to the forums! It's like kindergarten here--there's no such thing as a dumb question, and please don't ever think that you're "cluttering" the board by asking something we will likely all learn from. :) When you said evergreen, with leaves instead of needles, the first thing that jumped to m...
