Re: Hosta of the Day - "Yellow Emperor" - Post Your Pics

I saw this growing in Don Rawson's garden (in the shade). It sure stood out, the color was beautiful. I'll be looking for this one next year.

Re: Yippy, more hostas!

Here's a picture of Wheee! growing at a local nursery. I haven't seen it for sale around here yet. It's on my short list.

Re: Wonder how this would work for minis?

I'm going to try it. Here's a link to how someone filled the bottoms in. http://sunnyslifeinrehab.blogspot.com/2010/05/wall-no-pink-floyds-were-harmed.html I'm adding Mister Landscaper irrigation to this section of the garden, so it should keep the mini's cool. I think I'm going to stain the cinder ...

Re: Gold Standard HVX

Thanks Chris, I spotted these driving down the road, that's how bad it was. I left my phone at home, or I would have taken pictures.

Gold Standard HVX

Chris, Today I saw an unattended roadside stand in Hudsonville that was covered with Gold Standards severly infected with HVX. I've been by this stand hundreds of times and have never seen it attended (it's one of those pay on the honor system stands). I didn't know what to do, so I filed a complain...

Re: question on Undulata turning green -- then back again

I was just mentioning to my DH that the green leaves on our Undulata Albomarginata's are not showing up this year. I didn't have time to pull the green eyes out last year. Glad I didn't go through the hassle, I have them as a border, it would have been a lot of work.

Re: Some shots of Gold Standard

Nice to see a picture of a healthy Gold Standard. I got mine a couple of weeks ago and it didn't do well sitting on the deck in the sun. After seeing all the HVX pictures of GS lately, I planted it in front of a big rock away from all my other hostas. Everything I planted in front of that rock has d...

Guardian Angel

Here's a hosta that Chris picked out for me late last summer when I visited his nursery. Everytime I walked by Guardian Angel, I would say to myself, "Why did I buy this thing: http://i768.photobucket.com/albums/xx330/gesila9/GuardianAngel20100923.jpg Well, all I have to say is THANK YOU CHRIS! ...I...

Re: Changes after dividing

Last year was the first year I had Guacamole and it stayed green all year. I'm moving it this week and putting Touch of Class in it's place. I'm going to put Guacamole in a location that gets a little more sun and see if it changes color. I'm also pulling out two Fragrant Bouquets out of the same ar...

Re: If you could only bring 10

ViolaAnn, I've only had the Marilyn Monroe in the picture for 24 days. I got Marilyn Monroe and Blue Hawaii at the same time. The both unfurled in my living room next to the sliding door. I was very lucky to find them and didn't pay much for them, I believe $12.99 for Marilyn and $14.99 for Blue Haw...

Re: If you could only bring 10

Oh, how much fun, this is my first time playing. Here's my list: Blue Hawaii - I call this one my hosta on steroids. Big, beautiful blue, vase-like shape, I could go on forever. Key West - The bright gold color and the vase-like shape meets the 10 ft rule. It stands out in the garden when I look out...

Re: Have I told you lately how happy I am with Hallson's?

I ordered a lot of plants from Hallsons in mid September 2010. The single eye Lakeside Cha Cha that I got didn't do well after planting, I couldn't even get it to stand up. Well, I just checked on her and she has four little eyes peeping up. Of course, that's because Hallsons only ships plants with ...

Re: Hosta 'Radiant Star' is now in our catalog

What's the discount code? When you do normally ship? I know it's dependent on our Michigan weather, but I need an idea. I'm an income tax preparer and stay busy until the end of April. We also own an ice cream store that we usually open up around March 15 and we run the store by ourselves until the ...

Re: Hosta 'Radiant Star' is now in our catalog

Chris, I don't even have my Christmas lights put away yet and am thinking about ordering hostas already :frosty: :snow:

Does this mean if I place my order now, that you won't charge my credit card until the end of January?

Thanks,

Linda
