Hosta Thunderbolt is my favorite, but for pure beauty, "Touch of Class" #1, "June" #2, are the cats meow

Growing season to date 6-6-13

Some of the nicer plants from this year so far, 6-6-13

A question for the hosta people, do you see a lot of self sown seedlings?
I ask because I'm seeing a lot of seedlings that weren't planted by me, and I'm wondering if they tend to do that.

Re: Mixing Daylilies and Daffodils

Hi John I would think the more sun the better for both, but from the pic's the daylilies look just great I also was wondering about the Black Walnut trees, as I heard the same thing. As for the Oriental lilies, give it a try, see what happens. I'd like to know myself about the shade aspect as well a...

Re: Daylily bed re-do

Hosta's like shade, daylilies like sun, digging up old clumps of daylilies is work, so is digging up old clumps of Hosta's. All the discards from either are placed out by the road, they never are there longer than a few hours. My whole neighborhood is becoming a daylily mecca from what I've been see...

Re: Mixing Daylilies and Daffodils

I have used oriental lilies mixed with daylilies for years, the fragrance while working around the daylily beds is a real treat. But how the oriental's would perform in shade I haven't a clue

Re: Mixing Daylilies and Daffodils

You would have some overlap of dying daffodil foliage mixed with the maturing daylily foliage, other than that go for it. I don't think that anything you mentioned would bother or crowd out the daylilies. Just something I noticed from the pictures you posted. I think you would get more flowers from...

Re: Nate Bremer seedling

Hi Thy Before any of this one gets out I have to wait for MR Bremer to register it, and sell it for a few years. He gave it to me to test drive, & trust me I'm test driving it to the max. Ed I have seeds listed on the daylily auction under the seller name of "gramps" It's your best chance to get any...

Re: mid & late season bloomers, page 4

From what I have read Thy, there's a lot more to it than that.
There seems to be a whole lot of government rules to follow, and they aren't cheap from what I hear

Re: mid & late season bloomers, page 4

Hi Thy
It's very light colored, as close to white as anything I have.
There isn't as of yet a true white daylily that I'm aware of.

It's a seedling from bonus seed that I bought on the daylily auction
The cross is (Botox X Fringy) and it's pod fertile

mid & late season bloomers

The season is coming to a close.
I was hoping to see lots of re-bloom this year, but the lack of rain seemed to table that.
We got 2 and a half inches last week but I think it's to late to make a difference.

Bloom from last week, page 6

Bloom from last week A mixture of registered, & seedlings. Some of the seedlings were sent to me by daylily friends. It's been a busy week, peak bloom is here for the mids, earlies are winding down, nice scape's on the late season. If we get any rain we should see some re-bloom considering how early...
