Thanks Linda. We had freezing rain over night so everything had small icicles on it. Tonight it's headed into the teens with wind-chill to zero. That should take care of the remaining flowers. The forecast is for mid-forties for Christmas.
Can't wait 'til Hosta time and see what this thing does:

Re: Today's pic 12/19
I'm in New Jersey - the southern part. About 20 mi. SE of Phila. PA. and 40 mi. W of Atlantic City. We have had about 4 snows - all under an inch and gone quickly - "dustings". It's been under 20 degrees only once so far this season. I went out this morning and found some of my Encore Azaleas (Autum...

Re: Looking for a picture of Royal Wave
Just for fun I put together a Web page of "similar" 3 tone Hosta leaves. It could be a guessing game but the answers are on the page.

Re: Looking for a picture of Royal Wave
Thanks Chris, that's one of the pictures I was looking at. And that's the reason I couldn't find pictures labeled Royal Wave - I'm already looking at it. I need to grow a few of them to compare to some of the Striptease sports I have.

Re: Looking for a picture of Royal Wave
Well then I'm confused. I'm looking at the hosta library pictures of Royal Tiara and some have a green strip in the center. So is the three tone leaf really Royal Wave? And Roxanne thanks for the picture of Risky Business. I have a couple really tiny ones that will need a couple of years to get that...

Re: Looking for a picture of Royal Wave
Thanks for the information. I have a "fascination" with the sports of Striptease and was looking at the hosta library and saw Royal Tiara. Did some looking at sellers offering it and even found it in Marlys' Gardens - http://www.marlysgardens.com/photos/06/picture_008.jpg Some of the pictures remind...

Re: Looking for a picture of Royal Wave
I was doing some research on Royal Tiara and saw a reference to Royal Wave on the Hosta Sports page.
It said the "originator" was G. Johnson. I have seen references to Greg Johnson of Iowa on different Hosta sellers pages.

Looking for a picture of Royal Wave
Does anyone have a picture of a hosta named Royal Wave? It's a sport of Royal Tiara. Thanks.

Re: Think Spring :(
I was out about 10 days ago and got some shots of what is left in my garden. There are a lot of Encore Azaleas in flower. Some of the Hostas are holding on - June and relatives and some others. I've attached 2 MS Photo Story presentations - I run them as screen backgrounds in my office. The first is...

Picked up an "odd" hosta
It was labeled Minutemen but has strange markings. The tag was fixed to the container so it was not just swapped.
Problem is the colors are dulling more than normal when you change environments - almost look like paint peeling off. Should a hosta fade like this?

Small holes and spots on leaves
I have seen virus X on Blue Cadet and Gold Standard in my garden and thrown those out. But I noticed on one of your posts a reference to - bees and pine needles - making holes. I was going to throw these out until I read the post now I not sure. Is this a virus or just damage? I think one is Pilgrim...
