Re: Daily Hosta #1 - 'Fragrant Bouquet' - Add your pics

ViolaAnn, it was planted in 2009 as 3 divisions/eyes and is now up to 6. Like I said above, early in spring SI is slow to leaf out and looks a bit disappointing - then starts to take off well after the others are posing for photos. IMO, Sweet Innocence stands out since not many have this fresh color...

Re: Daily Hosta #1 - 'Fragrant Bouquet' - Add your pics

Here is Sweet Innocence for comparison. I moved it to more sun last year and it is finally looking happy. This family is always slow to take off for me each spring - seems to wait for the heat of summer to really get growing. http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk42/jonda001/HostaSweetInnocence09-001...

Moved this one in 2011, it has come on nicely since then - pic below is about 5-6 wks ago and it has added even more leaves on second flush since then.

Re: Komodo Dragon

Here's progression 2009 to 2012 - L to R, T to B. Moved KD in 2011, still a year or two away from mature leaves I think.

Re: Hosta June-3 weeks in the ground

June looks great in shade or sunnier location. Slow down on your worries and speed up your enjoyment - give her a year or two at least and then decide. I expect nothing the first year a hosta is planted; the second year I expect very little ; and the third I want to see progress. Jeesh... in 3 weeks...
