I'm worried about my hostas

I also posted these pic in the Virus X forum. I don't know what to do about my hostas. They get morning sun from about 9 to 1, and I water them every afternoon. The last two pics are the one that I split and at first I thought I had cut too much root and they just needed time to heal. Any suggestion...

Do my Blue Cadets have a virus?

Please help me with my hostas. Something is wrong with them and I'm worried that they have the HVX. I puchaced them at the PX and after reading that blue cadets are high on the virus list, I'm afraid they have it. The last two pics are the one I split and I was thinking that I cut too much of the ro...

Alexa, thanks so much for the support! I really need it right now. I just found out that in my housing area I have to fill out a 'beautification form' to get approval to plant anything! So thats going to take me all afternoon. I have no idea when I'll be able to get started or if I can get started. :(

The Iceburg hasn't done anything. It looks like brown sticks poking out of the ground. Two have leaves growing and the other two look like they may start growing soon. The forcast is mid 80's for the next few days. I can move them this afternoon, if it's recommended. Please let me know.

Rose advice...

This year I'm starting my first garden and I jumped head first into roses without knowing what I was doing. Several months ago I bought 4 different kinds, Iceburg, Silver Anniversary, First Prize, and French Lace. I planted them in a very shady spot that gets about 3 hours of full sun daily. Is it t...

Joan, Thanks for the welcome! I already know I'm going to be a regular here. I've been lurking around the forums here for a couple days now and I just now worked up the courage to register and post. I went to a different forum with my concerns and I was pretty much ridiculed for not knowing anything...

Well, I am not afraid of water! I try to go out everyday and water my rose bushes and blue cadets. ( I was wrong earlier, I don't have elegans, they are blue cadets. I'm new to Hostas, so please forgive me) My husband tells me that I'm going to over water them, but so far they seem fine. They all ge...

Tigger, I just saw your post and I appreciate the words of warning. I've always loved hostas and this is the first chance I've had to plant some hostas. I would hate to see my new hostas die in the sun. I was just outside planting my elegans and I did rethink the edging. Thanks, Christina

Thank you so much for all the suggestions. I went ahead and ordered the Dark Star and Golden Tiara. This my first attempt at a garden, so I wanted something inexpensive just in case I find out I don't have a green thumb. lol I hope I pick out the right ones, the description stated they were very sun...

Best Hostas for full sun?

Hi, I'm getting ready to go Hosta shopping and I would really like some advice on which Hostas to pick. I'm looking for some edging that can handle full sun. Thanks, Christina :)
