Re: Guests to our garden
Wow! Awesome photos. This huge snapper came up from the creek that flows behind my hosta garden. I found these photos dated 1995. I remember I was sitting on my patio, absorbed in a book, heard a slight sound, looked down and he was 1" from my big toe. Manny the mantis is straddling two Ginsu Knife ...

Re: Putting Delaware on the Map
Thanks for the welcome. David, if I'm alive and well in 2018, I would love to come to the convention. Any details yet?

Re: who has come over from the old GW?
Hi Ken - I found my way over here. Nice to see fellow garden forum members here. I agree that the photo quality is much better, but the type is hard on these old eyes.

Hosta of the Day - 'Grape Fizz' - anybody have it
What puts the fizz in Grape Fizz is the large purple and white hyacinth-like bloom it produces in late summer. Grape Fizz with its Rhapsody in Blue x Plantaginea parentage is a large very glossy hosta with thick, slug-resistant, wavy leaves. I love this "greenie." It is a vigorous grower. Other then...

Hi Ken - I'm here. It's nice to see familiar faces. Learning how to navigate the forum. Not sure how to insert a smiley. It's sleeting in DE today. Really nasty weather. Where do you insert an avatar?

And lastly - my Spring garden - very simple with a white geranium border surrounding Siberian Irises.
Sorry for the screw up. This was just for hosta gardens. How do you delete a post??

Mocc - Looking at that photo I imagine that you have created a beautiful sanctuary.
This is my small summer garden that surrounds my condo. Full sun most of the day. My late husband and I rushed to purchase our unit years ago because of the grounds surrounding it.

Putting Delaware on the Map
Hi fellow gardeners. I've had a passion for gardening for over 40 years. My main interest was perennials; but within the last 4 years I have developed a passion for hosta. Some of you may know me from the Hosta Garden Forum where I'm a frequent poster.

Re: My favorite garden/Your favorite garden(s)
I live in an active retirement community. Approximately 40' from my front door an island was created years ago by walking paths. It was unsightly and ugly. About 4 years ago with the condo association's approval, they began clearing it out in stages, and I began creating a hosta garden for the commu...
