Re: I give up!

Yea, the thing I kept doing is thinking that as I moved an area of plants over here, if they didn't have a tag I would be able to id them by the maps. Which then I didn't do, thinking I would remember. Then I would put them in with all the others sitting there and bingo! all was lost. I already know...

I give up!

My word! I was out sorting my newly moved not yet planted hostas around tonite and came to a really bad conclusion. After all my years of collecting, I have lost so many tags that I will never figure out what is what. Especially in the streaker division. I've bought more heavily in them the last cou...

Re: Forgotten plant

Can't remember when the last time was that I went running for my bulb catalog at 5 am, but I used to have that flower years ago and all I could think of is that it began with 'C'!! It's called Camassia. It does just have the lovliest color in the spring! Now I may have to get some of those to...

Re: Anyone have a pic of Moon Waves?

Linda, thank you so very much for your picture! :D I think I have singled it out and will post pics of what I'm down to for everyones decision tomorrow. I have a smaller plant that I thing is Sunpower but it's young and it doesn't match up totally with either of my mature plants. I may have to live ...

Anyone have a pic of Moon Waves?

In my hosta ID confusion, the one that has the Moon Waves tag in it, well, it's just so not it. Does anyone have a pic of it at this point in emerging so that I can ID the correct plant. I a lot of similar golds (also without tags) and am trying to sort it out. Thanks so much!

Re: Hooo Boy, what a mess!

Well the good news is, that I found my 'Splashed Leather'. Hadn't dug it yet! :-? Now the question is... where the heck is Alleghan Fog?? This isn't a small plant either! It's fairly mature and I see where I dug it up at the other house but do ya think I can locate it?? The sad news is, is that my v...

Re: Revolution and Pathfinder

My Revolution and Pathfinder are quite different at least in size. Pathfinder is the more vigorous of the two and has hands down beaten Revolution in not only size but seed production. I don't think the Pathfinder is quite as speckled tho as the Revolution. Heres a pic of my Pathfinder from '07. mooie

Hooo Boy, what a mess!

It's really really hard to put a hosta bed in when half of your tags are either lost or faded away. And many of them are not unfurled enough so that I could make an educated guess. Or! I may have remembered what it was while I was digging it, but forgot by the time I got home with it!  I'...

Wish I could find my pic of Dancing Queen from last year! It is the most incredible hosta! It bursts out of the ground with vigor and color and the gold just glows! Go for it!

Re: How much moisture can hostas take?

Nut, No those pots and trays you spy over on the property line are leftovers from when I had my greenhouse. There are hostas by the fairy, behind the mower and cart, around the next tree and around another tree not in the picture. These are all dug and sitting there waiting for me to plant them. I m...

First Sport Score of the year!

Hi ya'll. Went shopping for some stuff today while it rained and stopped at a garden center in Champaign. They always have a great selection of hosta and of course I had to have a look see. In the middle of the Dress Blues pack, this one grabbed my arm. Had to bring it home. It has 5 eyes, all seemi...

Re: How much moisture can hostas take?

I have a pic for you to see after we had 3/4" rain this afternoon and more on the way. The ground is well saturated as you can see. The first area that you see up by the pines is the sloppy area. It does drain, but back to the lower area. It will dry out but we have to have some dry weather first! I...

How much moisture can hostas take?

My new back yard is very wet from the halfway point to the back property line. By wet, I mean from sloppy to standing water. Since bringing in tons of dirt to raise the level isn't going to happen, I wondered how far back I can go with my beds before I hit the danger zone of 'too wet'. Thanks!

Re: Who has Confused Angel?

Hi again! Well the good news is that I found eyes coming up from the part that I left at the old house! So I snagged it and replaced it with a mature Potomac Pride. Not quite the same critter but still a nice plant and quite large. So if the one I had planted doesn't show up, I will still have a rep...

Re: Who has Confused Angel?

lol, I just noticed my cat's sweet face sticking out from under the leaves on the right. Nosy little thing! Well I hope that it does return as it was the most gorgeous plant, whatever it's name it! One good thing is, that I left part of it at the old house (I moved across the street) and I sti...

Re: Who has Confused Angel?

Well, when I questioned the gentleman at NGP about my 'Blizzard', he told me that they had a strange batch of tc's and that's what i got. I'm not complaining of course. :) It grew much like Blue Angel and was a huge plant. I have since gotten the correct Blizzard which is much more green streaked. T...

Who has Confused Angel?

The only information I have been able to gather on it, is that it's Danny's and available overseas?? Is there a source in the US? Mine was gorgeous last year, til I moved and moved it with me. I'm not sure it survived, not seeing any action so far. Somehow mine came thru NGP several years ago as a B...
