June 2nd and happy to be in a little less sun this year. I moved it over a couple spots, putting Lakeside Black Satin and Maui Buttercups in more sun instead. No bleached tips this year.

June 3rd mine didn't look much different from last year.

Hosta descriptions use glaucous bloom, I think because the word glaucous itself means bluish-green or greenish-blue.

Pruinose seems more generic in botany, means having powdery or waxy bloom. It seems pruinose was first used referring to frost.

Mine looked awful this year, and I've heard similar reports from others. I have space to let it grow awhile but am guessing it will eventually leave my garden too.

I have Lakeside Looking Glass, and it was a terrible slug magnet this year. Just moved it to a different bed. I don't do pots, so may have to remove it if the slugs still find it irresistible.

I got rid of my Invincible today. Just couldn't stand how it looks every year once August hits, all those insect holes.

Funny you decided to get rid of it, Ann. This is one that has never interested me. I can understand it looking blah at a nursery, but even in gardens it just seems lacking. I do admit to being tempted when it's a large plant on sale.

Sorry to hear your update. Not much of a wildfire. I find myself really like Raspberry Sorbet for a solid green this year.

Ed, is there much draw in the hosta in person? To me, I just kind of looks like a lot of other green hostas.

I guess I'm luyck that I have mine planted in a difficult strip next to the sidewalk. Only 3 or 4 seedlings have shown their little heads this year.
