This is H. 'Ebb Tide' I'd like to see if I can isolate the really wide margined leaf this year. If I do I think the plant will be much smaller since there is very little green in the leaf.

Well that's it fon now.

Another one that has been frustrating me for years I have been working to isolate a decent uniform design on this seedling...One of these days  My goal is to get all the leaves to look like those in the upper right corner.

This one was a surprise this year. It's a single division on one of my streaked breeders. It will be devided off this season and watched for a few years to see how it does. I really hope I can keep this wonderful wide green margin!

OK I'm almost done with this one just need to see how it holds up through the year and get it a bit bigger clump wise before I send this one off to the labs. It has great coloring almost like jH. 'June' but on a smaller plant with lance shaped leaves. I like it a lot!

This one is a few years old and is developing a nice rugose pattern on the leaf. I love plants that have great texture to them. I'm going to be adding Van Wades H. 'Clearfork River Valley' in my breeding over the next few years to see if I can get some of that great pebbeling.

This is a fairly new seedling about 5 years old out of streaked seedling from Dorothy Benedict. It's a true winner in my eyes and just needs to develope into a clump before I release it. Right now it's only a one division stable plant.

Things I'm working on...

I thought I'd show you some pictures of hostas I'm working on. The process for most of these to come up with a finished plant can take years. Some of the following have been in my garden for up to ten years and they are still not where I want them to be. With varigated hostas finding the right leaf ...

I agree with Rob 100%!!!! But if you must shoot on a sunny day (this always happens when I'm at the hosta convention) bring a big umbrella to create shade. I think I'm the only one who prays for rain during the convention tours  Now for those of you who remember the convention in DC...that was...

Chris, It was just like yours...I lefy it in the pot and put it in the ground in late fall. I was having some vole problems and I knew it was going to Walter's in the spring and I didn't want to chance vole damage. Well we had a mild winter with very little snow cover and with the early spring warm ...

Thanks everyone, yes it's totally mush, but hey what are you going to do? If you really think about it...it's just a hosta. Just why did it have to be that one

I've got lots of other things I'm working on so there's still more to come in the future :D

This one hurts...

OK usually I can take it with a grain of salt when one of my hostas dies but...

I'm sad to say that my entire clump of Ribbon Dancer bit the dust this year. Yes it was the one and only clump and I was going to send it to Walter's this year to be TCed

So say good bye to my baby

Canon all the way for me. My good camers is the Rebel XT but the ones I use all the time are the Canon PowerShot SD600 and the PowerShot SD750 neither of these have the image stabilizer on them but I haven't found the need for this feature. Both are used for garden pics and also for underwater photo...
