I am afraid to go out and look today. We got down to 27 last night. There was a lot of frost on our field. I've already got some frost damage, so I guess it doesn't matter much, but up until now, the hostas that were under the trees and next to the house were ok. Hope they still are.

I have some frost damage. What I have done in the past, is to wait a little bit and give them a chance to unfurl. Sometimes the damage isn't as bad as it looks. Then I just trim off what is necessary.
Mine have gotten it worse this year though. Some look completely annihilated.

We are supposed to be above freezing tonight, here in central WI....finally.
Several days of frost in a row has been tough on some of my hostas.

I have several astilbes and I think the fern-like leaves really compliment the hostas. I have had good luck with them. I just make sure to keep them watered sufficiently.
