I think it's a garden shed, but I agree, it really needs some huge hosta around it. And perhaps, just in front of those huge hosta, a row of medium hosta for better depth :bd:

Nice list. Pleased to see a Devon Green there. It is simply one of the best hosta imho.
Over here in Europe it's a very popular plant, and I've been told that that's not the case in the USA...

Re: Dollar Bill on Thunderbolt leaf

Hi Ed, The reason it isn't more popular is that Thunderbolt just won't grow that great in everyone's gardens, including my own. I think this one is really dependent on a lower pH, which I just don't have. I've sold some Thunderbolt (and Dream Weaver) over the years and they grow and slowly get bigg...

Yup, it's a Mikawa-no-Yuki hybrid, and has the same wedge shaped leaf shape. That was the reason why I bought this plant

Re: Some new plants

Some nice leaf shots :) Be warned, Ivory Necklace is a very vigorous grower that can get fairly wide, fairly quickly. I really like the corrugation plus how it stands upright. It's in a container so that shouldnot be a problem . It is indeed the combination of corrugation, the upright mound and the...

Re: Anyone else have a ruffled Blue Mouse Ears?

Having experienced a lot of disappointment when Baby Bunting went to Pandora's Box and then we got Hope and Cherish and Cameo... and I thought we'd gotten just a great family, but found that most of them don't grow worth a darn and I have little patches of struggling babies, year after year... Re: Hanky Panky through the 2009 season

I did open a post on the same matter two weeks ago on a Dutch Hosta forum. I have two hosta Hanky Panky. While they both emerged like this : http://supermasj.zenfolio.com/img/v8/p264148697-3.jpg , they now seem two completely different plants. The first one has only a small amount of sun, but shows ...

I love all the Striptease family, and each one has its pluses. Striptease - the original and a nostalgic favorite... exceptional grower, can make a huge mound (just like its mom, Gold Standard). It flaws, if you want to call them that, are that it colors up sort of slowly (just like its mom) leavin...
