Awesome, Rod!

Question, if I may...Everything I read says that the streaked parents should be the pod parent. I looked on hostalibrary at Grandchild and Hot Flash, and of course they are both streaked, yet differently from your seedlings. Can you tell me how you feel the DB pollen contributed to the offspring? I wondered since you had two streaky babies that had both been pollinated by DB that there may have been a common trait you noticed. They are really beautiful!

Sure,
I like to use pollen from mother plants back onto their babies.

Thanks Everyone,
I am glad that you enjoyed them and thanks for the possitive feedback. What looks good to me does not always look good to others. I am hoping for some good babies from these in the future also.
Have a great weekend, Rod

They are awesome, Rod. I'd love to see them in person some day.
I hope that by using the DB pollen, you will boost the fertility of the offspring. I have a lot of streaky seedlings that don't want to set seed... hopefully only because they are still young.
When we select parents for crosses, we don't often consider fertility as a trait we want to pass on, but we should.
The substance of DB is also a great trait. Now if only the slowness would get lost!

Dave,
I believe that by crossing these seedlings back to their mothers and doing this for a few years I will have produce a streaked plant that is very tough, fertile and stabile. Of course if it was not fun for me to see what happens when I do these crosses I would not even be growing seeds. It really should be all about having fun.
Thanks for the interest. Rod
