I had the chance to go 2 years ago and had a great time. The best part was getting to meet so many people from the forum, and I got to stay with Mary Ann and her husband who were wonderful hosts.

If gas prices weren't so high I would consider going again, but for those closer I recommend going :)

The fun is in the people, greeting old friends, meeting new ones and sharing hosta stories with everyone. It's like a hosta holiday in the dead of winter. Meanwhile, the event is well coordinated with programs to interest all of us plus a lovely lunch. This will be my 6th WSM. :D

240 miles, driving time past Chicago could be anywhere from 4 to 8 hours. Is there a train that goes nearby?

Schaumburg is well connected to all Chicagoland trainlines via PACE buses, but Chris, I would pick you up anywhere in Cook County. :D . . .unless we have another blizzard. :(

I'm bringing the "girls". I had an offer to ride along with a couple of guys in their car but had to pass cuz I'd be a white knuckle passenger without 4 wheel drive. I've driven home in a blizzard many a time. I wish I was like Mary Ann. I haven't kept track as to how many times I've attended. Maybe that's a side effect of my hosta problem, Hiccup. We try to go to chinese Friday night. My favorite year, we had a bouquet of hosta leaves flown in from New Zealand. When we left the resturant, I used my 4 wheel drive. When we left the hotel I saw the folage of pachasandra sp? in the Hyatt courtyard. When we returned, it was 8 inches deep. I believe that was the year Andy ate with Ken & Jim and the chicago bunch. I can say, I too go for the people. I'll be squeezing several. Later, Love, Lisa

I called the above photo to Kim's attention. She doesn't look like that anymore! She's a L.A. weight loss sucess story. She went to goal. From a size 14 to a 4. I had lunch with her last week and she was wearing a fitted black leather skirt. WOW..she looks fantastic. She's been a real inspiration to me. I too am throwing a new shadow. I have a ways to go yet before goal. I am having fun packing my suit case for WSM. All new clothes. We have a forecast for snow today. I'm glad I waited to have the car detailed. I'll see you at the Hyatt. Later, Love, Lisa
P.S. A resident at my group home shot this photo of Scutter and I.

It is times like this that I hate being a nurse and working every weekend. (It's the extra money they pay for giving up your life on the weekends :o )

Honestly..Hosta Rod you were missed. Good to see all the Linda's, MA, Ken, Jim, ect....I didn't have my camera with me. Kim Did. I shoulda just ask her for her digital media. Got pixs? Nope. Mary Ann has a new Fuji. It'll be a matter of time before she perfects the uploading. Later, Love, Lisa
