Pic of the Day--June seedling

Post by Hank Zumach »

Hi All--My interest in growing seeds goes up and down and I have never really been serious about cross pollination, using the really good breeders, etc. However, I have enjoyed playing around a bit to see what would happen. Several years ago I germinated some open pollinated June seeds and was really pleased with the way several of them developed. This particular plant has been growing in a spot that gets about 2-3 hours of midday sun. It has a soft, powdery quality that I can't capture in a photo. With good substance, it measured 16x8 last summer, apparently about the size it will settle at.
