Pic of the Day--Garden tour 2

Post by Hank Zumach »

Hi--Here are a few photos of the narrow strip that runs along the side of our driveway. The last one just a bit of the Mississippi River shoreline. The river is close to 3 miles wide in front of our home.

Here is a photo taken from the top of our driveway showing the river in winter. That is Minnesota on the other side of the valley.

Hank, I love the way the Monarda looks there. Perfect color blooms. Is it Jacob Kline? Do you have any problem with it invading your beds? I think I have mine in too much sun...

Charla--Yep, that is monarda but I don't know which variety it is. And yep, it does spread but not too badly so we can fairly easily control it by weeding it out. The colors make it worth while. That spot is one of the sunnier places in our garden, getting maybe 5-6 hours of direct mid-day sun.

Hank, I love the way you have combined your hostas with all of the companions and groundcover. I know I always say it but everything looks so green and lush. The view of the river is beautiful too. 8-)
