My Hosta flowers - post yours too!

Lets share hosta flowers. They just never seem to get equal billing. :) (or is it too early?)

I can find a few scapes coming up here-and-there... Maybe there's still enough time to figure out how to properly use the macro-feature on the camera. ;^)

I like your "upward" shot on Bridegroom. :)

Thanks, I had to put him up on the table to get the opening of the flower. They really "look down" and the stamen (??- female part) stays tight with the boys. I've been playing bee :) . I collected pollen from plantagenia in Febuary (and she's starting again :D ) and froze it. I don't think it was successfull, but how do I know? I may have a seed pod on Reptillian, but I only think it's by Bridegroom. Could be Bridegroom, plantagenia or self. I didn't keep track :)

I have more photos, I just need computer co-operation. Wheaten Blue (not Paul's Glory :) ) has some very pretty flowers, just not enough of them. Cute shape on them.

My first hosta flowers opened this morning, and of all things it's on a potted Great Expectations that I bought last year!

Love that picture! I'll have some plantagenia flowers soon, she's working faster than Phantom, who started before "p". Next in line is a newbie, BME, who was shipped with a flower stalk coming. :)

I've been house sitting all week, I've missed every plantagenia flower! They are all gone now! :x BUT...Blue Mouse Ears has 2 open right now, Phantom is still pretty, and Waving Wuffles has the very first hint of a scape starting. Reptillian has 2 seed pods - still green, but they are there (just not in the previous photo). I put a nylon over it in case they opened while I'm not there. My Y2k computer is a little overwhelmed by the new camera I think. It has gotten incredibly slow lately and locks up on photobucket. It may be some time before I get new shots on, but I do have them. :)

Here's the pods: :)

I just harvested seeds from Reptillian and they are drying as we speak. I think 3 look plantable, but I'll plant all of them for the sake of luck. :)

Plantagenia and Waving Wuffles have scapes coming. So I'm not done with photos yet. :D

Spider, I think you may be harvesting your seeds too soon. Most people say that it takes 6-8 weeks minimum with the pods on the plant for the seeds to develop and be viable....

Haven't been able to find Amy Elizabeth here in Canada. Will have to look harder because my granddaughter Amy loves pink and the blooms definitely have a pinkish cast.

It's a bit early for many pics from here this year. The best of my flowers from last year were posted on the other Hosta flower thread and I'll refrain from double posting them.
