I have an h. Blue Angel that I have been nursing back to health after most of it was killed in the weird spring we had in 2007 here in central OH. I have it in a pot, and brought the pot into my garage last winter (cold enough to keep dormant, warm enough not to freeze it dead...) It is now two strong eyes, and I have decided where it will eventually go into the ground. My question is: Since it is now healthy and strong in a pot, and I know where it will live eventually... should I go ahead and plant it while it can still develop some roots in situ, or overwinter one more time in the garage? (the spot gets direct sun for a chunk of the day)
BTW - I'm a chronic lurker, so I feel like I am acquainted with all of you! Thanks in advance for your help.

Plant it in the ground!
Post more often!
Being in a pot is riskier than the ground in terms of freeze/rot.

Plant it in the ground. There is plenty of time for it to form roots. It does that next month.

Re: To plant in ground or not question
I agree...plant in the ground. At least a month or so before the freeze starts. That will give it time to establish itself. The sooner, the better. I lost quite a lot of hostas in that awful winter/spring we had last year and many of them were overwintered in pots. Never had that problem before.
I also agree with the posting more.
