Some early spouting

Post by redcrx »

I just noticed this plain green plant was up today. It has over 70 shoots with the tallest about 5 inches. It's right next to Twilight and Fortunei Albopicta which aren't showing any signs of life yet.

It will turn into a plain green hosta with lots of flowers - but no seed pods.

This is its third season - it got large quickly.

Thanks for sharing. I wish they all had that kind of growth rate. I had 3" of snow Saturday night. There is still some hiding in the shadows. It is supposed to be mid 50's later in the week, that will be a treat.

Just about all of mine have eyes up. Still no sign of Risky Business and one other. I sooooo thrilled when I found Cracker Crumbs today...with 7 eyes to boot!!! I was positive that I had killed it last summer when I moved stuff to the new bed.

I have Cabaret showing a couple of nubs popping up. It's in a sunny area.

I have a nice Hanky Panky that came in over the winter with some nice leaves on it. I'm going to wait until the garden has sprouted more before I plant it.

redcrx ,
You might want to take them out of the light and put them in normal light because it looks like their getting kind of leggy, I had that happen to me one year when got them early and tried to get them to grow quicker and then when I put them outside the stems couldn't stand up to the wind (would keep breaking) until new leaves came up.

Hope that helps, Allen

I was doing some cleanup yesterday and found some eyes emerging. I quicly covered them back up! We're still dipping into the upper 20's and low 30's at night, so I don't want to see eyes yet!!!
