Re: Anyone heading to the Winter Scientific this weekend?
THis is the first year in quite a while that I will miss out.
My usual partner in hosta crime is getting ready to go on a much-needed vacation, and I'm not planning to make the trip on my own.
Looks like it may actually be above zero for the weekend!

Linda P - Wish we were going to WS together. My partner in Hosta Fun is so busy being Grandma she doesn't take time out to run away with me too often these days. It's my weekend to work too.
Reldon said he's headed that direction. Maybe he'd pick you up along the way. Renaldo - where are you? Oh, yeah, probably hanging out at the AHS On-line auction / Hosta Library just watching the action. That's what I've been doing. FUN!!!
My friend just gave me a CD of the AHS National Hosta Convention we attended in St. Louis 2008. I guess I will just have to make do with it for my Hosta-Fix this weekend.
Have a great time you all.

Yep - I will be there also. Hope we can meet, Hostadesigner. Just look for the guy with the long goatee [who isn't Bob Solberg]. ![;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Re: Anyone heading to the Winter Scientific this weekend?
I have to miss it.
With my new job....I can't take any approved or unapproved time off for another two months! I suppose I could have flown but I couldn't justify the expen$e. My partner in hosta crime will be there, Kim Larsen. She's in a car pool with Mary Schwartzbauer, Don Dean and Dr. Bob Olson. Connie Linder is flying. They'll be dining at a Chinese venue tonight. Sat....maybe they won't do the RAM micro brew or maybe they will. When it was at the Hyatt, we could just walk across the parking lot and drag home a growler or two of beer. Butt Face Amber's my fav. I've sent along a card for folks to sign for Mildred Seaver. She has a 97th Birthday and we wanna acknowledge that. I'll be wishing I was there to squeeze my friends. I wonder if they'll even miss me. Later, Love, Lisa
P.S. Renaldo....you gotta keep growing that beard if you wanna "hang" with the ZZ top look alikes! Photo of puppie in his arms is Kim Larsen's groom.

Have I mentioned lately that my drinking team has a hosta problem?
Re: Anyone heading to the Winter Scientific this weekend?
We wont be there either this year. To many things going on. Going to a concert on Sunday night in Des Moines.
Lisa...the Ram is one of our favorite places. I dont even like beer that much but theres is over the top!
Seems like the weather when we went had been very very cold. Remember the year we all walked over to the Ram and thought we were going to freeze to death! Linda you were there that year, I think.
Another year I remember we drove home on a sheet of ice most of the way!
Everyone that is going...have a great time! Buy lots of good seeds that have been donated.
I was going to post of photo of a seedling that I won when bidding a few years ago of Don's Deans seeds, but havent figured this posting photos on this forum.
Will miss you all. Lisa I am sure they will miss you, I miss you now! Great photos you posted.
Reldon hope you made it Ken's, stop for ice cream if you see a good place.
