One of my very first hostas. The second year in my garden it was so slow to emerge that I thought I'd lost it and bought another. Had the two until this year when one got infected by nematodes and I destroyed it.

Masquerade has been a good mini. I started with one tiny single eye of this plant and have nursed it along to the large patch shown below. It does revert, however each spring I simply remove the green leaves to keep it going. It is growing in a fair amount of sun and does not burn out.

Must put this one back in the garden - it did much better there than it did in the pot. And I nearly lost what was left of it when the squirrels dug up the pot.

Mine pictures a few posts above succumbed during winter 2012-13. But I bought another in 2013 because this was one of my very earliest hostas. I sort of need it in the garden. This is the new division in its second year in my garden. Photo from July 16, 2014.

2015 - June 21. Still growing, but was later attacked by slugs.

2016 update - I now keep this one in a pot and sink the pot into the trough or veggie garden for the winter. Less disturbance to the roots.
