Vase shaped.. help me find me more :-)

A friend came and helped me get rid of some of my hostas and to reduse som others. Hard thing to do, but there were no other way. My darn lot is to stupid to understand it have to grow like the plants
Then... I know for sure I will bye new ones. I can resist just now, but in the winter blues time, no way.

So here is what I plan to do
Plant more vase shaped hostas

So help me find vase shaped hostas Please
Regal Splendor and Krossa regal are some of my favorites in the garden...

Thanks for the laugh this morning. My lot refuses to "grow" with my hosta too.
Vase-shaped hosta: Golden Sculpture, Jade Cascade, Krossa Regal, Gold Regal, Alex Summers, Regal Splendor, Elvis Lives, Tenryu, to name just a few.

Try Venetian Blue - you will like it.

Pia, forget Rascal, I planted 5 plants into a large, rather tall pot and placed it near the entrance door. Rascal spread out to the point, where we should have moved the door
How about Phoenix! it is vase shaped, but what a sight in spring when it emerges, wow, truly raising like the phoenix fro the ashes.

My lot is not growing either, but the garden somehow gets bigger, moving over to two neighbors

My Lakeside Cha Cha is vase shaped right now, but it has only been in my yard for two years. Don't know what it will be like in a few. And my yard sheems to be shrinking. At least the plantable areas are. I have too many moisture sucking trees that I can't get rid of without having to look at the neighbors' houses. So mine have been going into pots.

Lakeside Surfrider is a nice dark green vase shaped hosta but it gets rather large.

It is a great looking vase shaped hosta with red legs.

One of my favorite combos is Gypsy Rose and any little yellow under the leaves of a great big nigrescens. I have Lakeside Kaleidoscope under the other side of nigrescens-that is real pretty, too.

Wanda, with some of them it was a bit hard to deside. Some had to go and offcaurse I let the ones I did not love that much go first, so Guacamole.. I know ( do not kick me) 3 foot with went out, so did So Sweet, Julie Mors and a few others, some are cut to half size and Shade Fanfare is 75 % off
I´lite the full look, but it was too much Lots of new smaller hostas vere hidden under big old ones

LOL no, I did not get anything in trade.. they are the top hosta sellers here and really god friends, and they were in deep troubles about it But I know I can walk their sales area andfall in love with a hosta.. and it stands rigt in my hand without a word from me

Some of the hostas are new to me, and I have to check them

Some surprise me, cuss I never thought of them as vase shaped.. Gypsy Rose was new last year and do not look vaseshaped yet

Wanda, it that the seacret, keep them adult but not too big ?? I am thinking of Deanes Dream here, from being some what vase shaped last year, it is filled out flatt what do you call it this year, I gave the pot the reason... you know, not enough fertilizer or water or... but it is maybe just too old to stay vase shaped

I have mont. aureomaginata.. thinking of moving it to one of the holes. it will be in its 3 year starting from one small/medium eye..

I don't know if anyone mentioned these or not, but Regal Chameleon is another really nice vase-shaped one. And Tenryu is like a combination of Krossa Regal and Abiqua Drinking Gourd, tall vase shape with cupped green/blue leaves.

Great list Don! Montana Aureomarginata is one for the list! So Is Behemoth, Flower Power, Jade Cascade. Mature specimen plants are awesome to view. Really, the one plant I wish I would have bought long ago....and never did buy is 'Millenium" It isn't another "big blue" I can spot it a long way off, because it is distinctive. It's a tall big blue, upright, and Look at the back of those leaves! This pic was taken this summer at a Regional tour garden. I wish it was here!
